MP backs biodiesel tax break project

Liberal Democrat MP Andrew George is backing a campaign to keep tax breaks for companies who produce biodiesel.
Producers converting cooking oil into biodiesel currently take advantage of a 20p differential however that is because of end next April.
The St Ives MP, who leads the Lib Dem Environment Team, has been meeting the UK sustainable biodiesel alliance.
Mr George said "a variety of small businesses in Cornwall presently earn money from utilized cooking oil".
He added: "In order to be able to get this type of industry going it does require just a bit of lift which is available in the kind of tax inevitable."
Biodiesel is a mix of diesel, rapeseed and vegetable oils.
